MINISTRY OF POLICE, PRISONS & CORRECTIONS PROMOTION CEREMONY

    • The Ministry of Police, Prison & Corrections [MPPC] promotion ceremony was held yesterday at Tanoa Tusitala Hotel. Along with 63 police and prison officers who were promoted to higher ranks was Lieutenant Commander for Australia Defence Force Andrew Dobbs who was promoted to Commander. The promotion ceremony was attended by the Australian Deputy High Commission, police executive, senior management, and families and friends of the promotees.
      In congratulating the newly promoted officers yesterday, Police Commissioner Afioga Fuiavailiili Egon L Keil in his keynote address emphasized the role of Police in performing duties to the highest standard and reminded them to do their best in sustaining the trust and confidence of the public. “Remember do not abuse this power, you are a public servant, act like one, look like one, respect the law and our policies. Quality is what we’re looking for, we’re not looking for numbers so we can build our good image of professionalism in MPPC”
      It was indeed a historical event Maritime Surveillance Advisor Andrew Dobb, was also promoted to Commander and he was presented with a certificate and new epaulets in recognition of his wonderful contribution and service not only for Australia and Samoa but the whole Pacific Island Region.
      MPPC newly appointed officers were
      1. Assistant Commissioner for the Prison Lega Galu Frost.
      2. Seven were promoted to the rank of Inspector,
      3. Nineteen were promoted to the rank of Senior Sergeants.
      4. Six were promoted to the rank of Sergeant.
      5. Twenty four were promoted to the rank of Corporal.
      6. 3 promoted to Principal Correction Officers and;
      7. Three new Senior Correction Officers.
      MPPC acknowledges the support of families and friends to the members who were promoted.
