Thanksgiving Service Marks Successful Conclusion of CHOGM 2024
On the morning of Wednesday, 30 October 2024, the Samoa Police, Prisons and Corrections Services (SPPCS), together with Samoa’s government officials and stakeholders, gathered to express gratitude at a special Thanksgiving Service, held in honor of the successful completion of the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) hosted by Samoa from October 21 to 26, 2024.
The service was attended by the Head of State, His Highness Tuimaleali’ifano Va’aletoa Sualauvi II, Prime Minister Fiame Naomi Mataafa, Cabinet Ministers, and public servants, uniting government ministries and representatives from the private sector to recognize the collective effort in ensuring a seamless CHOGM event.
Representing SPPCS, Commissioner Auapa’au Logoitino Filipo, along with the SPPCS Executive and Senior Management, joined other ministries in reflecting on their dedication and service in hosting this high-profile event. SPPCS, alongside its Pacific Police and international partners, led the forefront of security efforts, safeguarding all activities and dignitaries throughout the week-long CHOGM gathering.
In her address, the Prime Minister acknowledged and commended the collaborative contributions of all government ministries and public servants, whose tireless efforts helped make CHOGM 2024 a success. The Thanksgiving Service marked a fitting close to the event, celebrating the achievements and unity demonstrated by SPPCS, its partners, and all involved.
