Strengthening Maritime Security in Samoa

On Monday 9th June 2025. Chargé d’Affaires Daniel Tarapacki, Commissioner Auapaau Logoitino Filipo, and U.S. Coast Guard Lieutenant Channing Meyer have officially launched the U.S. Coast Guard Boarding Officer Course. This hands-on, 12-day training program is designed to equip Samoa’s maritime law enforcement professionals with the essential skills, knowledge, and confidence needed to protect our shared waters.
Participants from Samoa Police Prisons and Corrections Services will receive training from U.S. Coast Guard experts, enhancing their readiness for sea patrols and ship rider missions.
This Training Sponsored by the U.S. Embassy and the U.S. Coast Guard, this course reinforces the ongoing partnership between U.S and Samoa Police , aiming to enhance regional security, coordination, and border enforcement capabilities. Together, we are strengthening our borders, ensuring safer waterways, and fostering a more resilient U.S.-Samoa partnership.
