SPPCS Welcomes 28 New Corrections Officers with Traditional Ceremony
The Samoa Police, Prisons, and Corrections Service (SPPCS) officially welcomed 28 new Corrections Officers today with a solemn church service held at the Police Academy in Tafaigata. The service was followed by the traditional ‘ava ceremony—a time-honored Samoan custom symbolizing respect, unity, and commitment to duty.
The event was attended by Commissioner Auapa’au Logoitino Filipo and Executive Members, who emphasized the values of integrity, discipline, and dedication to upholding the law. In his keynote address, the Commissioner reminded the recruits of the vital role they will play in maintaining security and supporting rehabilitation within Samoa’s corrections system.
SPPCS extends its warmest congratulations to the new recruits as they embark on their journey of service and responsibility.
