SPPCS Maritime Unit Completes Jetski Training for CHOGM Preparedness
The Samoa Police, Prisons & Corrections Services (SPPCS) Maritime Unit successfully completed Jetski training facilitated by Leading Senior Constable Graham Hill of the NSW Police Force Marine Area Command. Held from Wednesday, 2nd October to Saturday, 5th October 2024, the training aimed to enhance the skills of Maritime officers in patrolling the Apia coastal area in preparation for the upcoming Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM).
The training focused on operational readiness, ensuring officers are equipped to maintain public safety and security during CHOGM, a major international event hosted in Samoa. The SPPCS values the ongoing partnership with the NSW Police Force, which continues to strengthen maritime capabilities for efficient law enforcement in Samoa’s waters.
