SPPCS Holds Public Acknowledgement Ceremony for Assistance in Recapturing Escaped Prisoners

The Ministry of Police, Prisons & Corrections held a ceremony this morning to acknowledge and present rewards to members of the public who assisted in the successful capture of the two escaped prisoners.

Commissioner Auapa’au Logoitino Filipo extended his heartfelt appreciation:

“We are truly grateful for your support. When the prisoners escaped, there were genuine concerns for public safety. However, thanks to your cooperation and vigilance, we were able to apprehend them swiftly and safely.”

The Commissioner also acknowledged the support from the Australian Federal Police (AFP), and expressed gratitude for the ongoing assistance of Senior Responsible Officer, Superintendent Simon Penny, whose partnership continues to strengthen Samoa’s law enforcement efforts.

The Ministry remains committed to working hand in hand with the community and international partners to ensure the safety and security of all.
