SPPCS & AFP Strengthen Capacity at the Operations Centre

Between 1–4 December 2025, two AFP Officers delivered specialised training to staff of the SPPCS Operations Centre at Police Headquarters.
Operations Centres serve as the “eyes and ears” of policing — providing centralised monitoring, initial response, coordination, and communication support for incidents across Samoa.
Through the ongoing Samoa–Australia Police Partnership (SAPP), this training focused on strengthening our frontline communication and response capabilities in the following areas:
🔹 Communicating effectively and with influence
🔹 Radio communication skills used during incidents and emergencies
🔹 Prioritising tasks and allocating police resources efficiently
🔹 Supporting members of the public who contact police via the Police Assistance Line (+685) 22-222
The final day of the program brought together some of Samoa Police’s Commissioned Officers for Command and Control training, focusing on both strategic and operational decision-making. AFP Officers also shared valuable experience and best practices to help strengthen Samoa’s policing capability.
SPPCS acknowledges and appreciates the continued support of the AFP and SAPP in building a safer Samoa through enhanced training and partnership.
