Deputy Police Commissioner Papalii Monalisa Tiai-Keti represented the Samoa Police in the PRNC 2025, Suva Fiji from 14-16 July. She was amongst the delegation of representatives from Samoa lead by Pacific Security College Board member Tuiloma Neroni Slade.
The Pacific Regional and National Security Conference brings together policy makers, practitioners, academia and NGO representatives to discuss critical areas that shape security issues in the Pacific region. The Conference dialogue puts emphasis on the power of collaboration to collectively develop solutions that will achieve lasting peace and security in the Pacific and in line with Pacific Island Leaders’ vision in the 2050 Strategy for the Blue Pacific Continent.
Prime Minister of Fiji Tagaloa Sitiveni Rabuka gave the opening speech and highlighted the theme of this years conference and that is “Ocean of Peace” concept.
Papalii was one of the panelist for the discussions on the topic of Women, Peace and Security. Highlighting the collective voices of all members of society to achieving a Safe Blue Pacific Continent together.
The Conference concludes with remarks from both the Prime Minister of Niue Hon Dalton Tagelagi and Pacific Island Forum Secretary General, Baron Waqa.
Outcome from the PRNSC conference will assist with the review of the Pacific Framework for Regional Security Committee that will gather in Suva following the PRNSC conference.
