Yesterday, Tuesday 3rd March 2025 the Samoa Police, Prisons & Corrections Services (SPPCS) joined dignitaries in honoring those who responded to the HMNZS Manawanui emergency. The

Recognition Service acknowledged the bravery and professionalism of SPPCS (Police Maritime Wing), SFESA, the Australian Defence Forces, and civilian responders.

Certificates of Recognition and challenge coins were presented, with special acknowledgment given to the families of those honored. Distinguished guests included New Zealand High Commissioner Sialei Van Toor, Rear Admiral Garin Golding, and Commissioner of Police Auapa’au Logoitino Filipo, reaffirming Samoa and New Zealand’s strong partnership.

SPPCS remains committed to collaboration in safeguarding lives and strengthening emergency response efforts.
