This morning, the Samoa Police, Prisons, and Correction Services committed to the destruction of firearms, ammunition, and drugs linked to illegal activities in Samoa. 
In total, the following items were destroyed:
• 360 illegal firearms (including 77 surrendered under the past amnesty)
• 1,635 rounds of assorted ammunition
• 4kg of illicit drugs – including 42.5g of methamphetamine and 3.99kg of marijuana
These items were seized through coordinated police operations, intelligence-led raids, and strong community cooperation. Their removal reflects our unwavering commitment to public safety, justice, and the rule of law.
The ceremony was held at Police Headquarters in Apia, witnessed by Government officials, members of the diplomatic corps, and the media. Firearms were destroyed using a metal bender donated by the New Zealand High Commission in Samoa , followed by rolling and drug incineration .
