AFP Assists Samoa Police Ahead of Independence Celebrations

AFP ASSISTANCE TO SAMOA POLICE AND GOVERNMENT IN PREPARATION FOR INDEPENDENCE CELEBRATIONS
The Samoa Police, Prisons & Corrections Services acknowledges the continued support and assistance of the Australian Federal Police (AFP), through the Samoa Australia Police Partnership (SAPP), in preparation for the upcoming Samoa Independence Celebrations.
Acting Commissioner, Leiataua Samuelu Afamasaga, officially received 100 portable radios and accessories, valued at approximately SAT$200,000, from AFP Senior Responsible Officer (SRO), Superintendent Simon Penny, last week in support of operational policing, coordination, and communication efforts for the upcoming Independence celebrations.
This timely assistance will significantly strengthen frontline communication capabilities and operational coordination to help ensure the safety and security of the public during the Independence celebrations.
The Samoa Police extends its sincere appreciation to the AFP for their continued partnership, commitment, and ongoing support towards strengthening policing capability and supporting the Government of Samoa in delivering safe and secure national events.
