New Zealand Governor General RT Honorable Dame Cindy Kiro visits Samoa


The Governor General of New Zealand pays homage to Samoa’s 60th Independence celebration. Her Excellency the RT Honorable Dame Cindy Kiro arrived in Samoa earlier today. Prime Minister Fiame Naomi Mataafa and her diplomatic counterparts greeted Dame Cindy Kiro at the Faleolo International Airport. The Governor General will be in attendance throughout the week-long festivities.

During her visit to Samoa, Governor General Dame Cindy Kiro will join PM Fiame Naomi Mataafa at the Independence Anniversary Program which will be held on the Big Island of Savaii. Upon her return to Upolu, she will attend the re-launch of the Save the Manumea Campaign which is hosted by the Samoa Conservation Society. Dame Cindy Kiro will then visit the Commonwealth Graves at the Magiagi Cemetery. The Governor General will also be visiting the eye clinic at the Tupua Tamasese Meaole Hospital. Her Excellency will conclude her visit with the Volunteer Service Abroad (VSA).
