Magiagi village today hosted the Governor-General of New Zealand, RT Hon. Dame Cindy Kiro. In welcoming Her Excellency, Magiagi held a special Ava ceremony in her honour. This was followed by the re-launch of the “Save the Manumea Campaign” by Samoa Conservation Society, including the Save the Manumea branded painted buses.
Her Excellency Dame Cindy Kiro also visited the Commonwealth Graves at Magiagi Cemetery to pay her respects and lay wreaths. She was accompanied by the New Zealand High Commissioner to Samoa, Dr. Trevor Matheson
