TRAFFIC SPEED RADARS

      • Samoa Australia Police Partnership (SAPP) provided SPPCS with two new traffic speed radars today. The handover of these equipments will assist SPPCS in its road safety campaign.
        Since the begining of this year SPPCS statistics has shown an increase in the number of traffic related matters dealt with by SPPCS including fatalities, as such efforts are being put into enforcements over the coming weeks and months. The enforcement will be done nation wide and not just in Apia.
        Traffic enforcement will include;
        * Ongoing Traffic Road Blocks to monitor Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol
        * Enforcement of Traffic citation for drivers of vehicles with additional lights
        * Traffic citiation on unlicense drivers
        * Getting Unregistered Vehicles off our roads
        * Speeding and boy racers
        Safety on our roads is not just a police concern, it should be everyones concern. SPPCS reminds drivers that their careleness, negligence and pure disrespect for our laws will result in an incident that can be avoided if road rules are respected by all.
        One life lost is one too many!
