SPWAN RETREAT 2023

A morning of celebration, a morning of fellowship. The Samoa Police, Prisons, and Corrections Services (SPWAN) has inaugurated its retreat. Chargé d’affaires Noriko Horiuchi was a distinguished guest during the occasion, which was officiated by Pastor Rosina Erema Chan-Poe. At the auspicious occasion, Commissioner Auapa’au made the keynote presentation.
He thanked the women for their efforts and contributions to the organization. “I commend your professionalism and commitment to the status quo,” Auapa’au stated.
“I am pleased of your accomplishments and admire your hard work.”
To honor women’s contributions and the road toward empowering emerging leaders, Chargé d’affaires Noriko Horiuchi discussed the issues that women face on the field.
The gathering continued with strategic talks about the constitution, entitlement principles, and Terms of Reference of the Samoa Police Women Advisory Network (SPPCS).
Deputy Commissioner Papali’i Monalisa Tiai-Keti moderated the panel discussion, which included SPWAN members discussing how the network may improve on the goals and advancements that have already been placed as a basis for the SPWAN.
