Samoa Police Training Academy Officially Registered as a Post School Education and Training (PSET) Provider
The Samoa Police, Prisons, and Corrections Services (SPPCS) proudly announces the registration of the Samoa Police Training Academy (SPTA) as a formal Post School Education and Training (PSET) provider with the Samoa Qualifications Authority (SQA) in January 2025. This milestone marks a significant achievement in ensuring that the Academy meets the highest standards of quality in training delivery.
The registration process, facilitated by the SQA, involved a comprehensive evaluation of the Quality Management Systems of both SPPCS and SPTA to confirm compliance with the stringent requirements for formal PSET providers in Samoa.
SPPCS acknowledges the valuable support of the Australia Pacific Training Coalition (APTC) Samoa, whose partnership played a key role in achieving this registration. Additionally, this collaboration contributed to the development of the Certificate II in Policing program, which is currently awaiting accreditation from SQA.
This achievement reflects SPPCS’s dedication to excellence in law enforcement training, ensuring its officers receive high-quality education and skills development to better serve the community. The
Commissioner of Police, Auapa’au Logoitino Filipo, expressed gratitude to APTC Samoa for their unwavering support and partnership, recognizing this accomplishment as a pivotal step toward building a stronger and more capable Police Force.
This milestone highlights the commitment of both SPPCS and APTC to enhancing the skills and capabilities of Samoa’s law enforcement personnel. By offering advanced training, SPPCS aims to equip its workforce with the necessary expertise to serve and protect the community with excellence.
