Acknowledgment of Fiji Police Force Deployment for CHOGM 2024
The Samoa Police, Prisons and Corrections Services (SPPCS) is pleased to acknowledge the Fiji Police Force and its officers who will be arriving in Samoa to assist with security operations for the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) later this month.
A contingent of 35 Fiji Police officers, led by Superintendent of Police (SP) Rakesh Chand, will be deployed to provide critical support for this significant international event. The delegation includes a diverse range of specialists such as forensic experts, intelligence personnel, personal protection officers, motorcyclists, and an administrative team.
This deployment is a testament to the strong cooperation among Pacific law enforcement agencies, facilitated by the Pacific Islands Chiefs of Police (PICP) and the Pacific Community for Law Enforcement Cooperation (PCLEC). The collective commitment to ensuring the safety and success of CHOGM 2024 is of great importance not only to Samoa but also to the wider Pacific region.
The SPPCS welcomes this support from the Fiji Police Force and looks forward to working closely with their officers to ensure a secure and successful CHOGM. Their professionalism and expertise will play a key role in the smooth execution of security operations during the event.
The Fiji Police contingent is expected to arrive in Samoa on Sunday, 14th October 2024.
