NZ POLICE COMMISSIONER CONTINUES OFFICIAL VISIT TO SAMOA

Day two of the official visit by New Zealand Police Commissioner Richard Chambers began with a courtesy meeting with the Honourable Faualo Harry Schuster, Samoa’s Minister of Police and Prisons. The meeting highlighted the ongoing cooperation between Samoa and New Zealand in strengthening policing and justice outcomes across the region.
Commissioner Chambers then visited the new Samoa Police Academy in Tafaigata, where he toured the facilities and observed firsthand the investments being made into modern police training and infrastructure.
Following this, the Commissioner arrived at the SPPCS Headquarters in Apia, where he was welcomed by senior leadership and staff. A hosted lunch and guided tour of the HQ showcased key operational divisions and the work being done to serve and protect communities across Samoa.
The day concluded with a roundtable discussion between Commissioner Chambers and the SPPCS Executive, focused on enhancing partnership strategies, capacity building, and exploring areas where New Zealand Police can continue to support SPPCS in its development goals.
We thank Commissioner Chambers for his engagement and reaffirm our commitment to strong regional collaboration in policing and public safety.
