On June 7, 2025, Deputy Commissioner Lafaitele Herbert Samuelu Aati participated in the 63rd Independence Day celebration of Samoa held by the community in Brisbane (Logan), Australia. DC Aati was accompanied by Det Supt Dan Evan of the Australian Federal Police and members of the Samoa Ministry of Police, Prisons and Corrections attending the UN and PPSG training.
During the event, DC Aati was one of the guest speakers. He expressed his gratitude to the organizers and thanked the Voice of Samoan People Incorporated for the invitation to participate. He highlighted the enduring pride that the Samoan community in Brisbane holds for their nation, stating, “The celebration of Samoa’s 63rd Independence anniversary in Australia exemplifies the pride that our community has for our homeland, a nation built on faith in God and mutual respect for one another.”
The event coincided with DC Aati’s attendance at the closing ceremony for the UN peacekeeping training in Brisbane, Australia.
