Swearing-in Ceremony For Newly Recruited Members of Samoa Police, Prisons & Corrections Services

A total of sixty-seven (67) newly recruited members of the Samoa Police, Prisons & Corrections Services (SPPCS) have successfully completed their swearing-in ceremony and are ready to embark on their law enforcement duties. This group includes 27 female and 40 male Police Constables, along with 20 male Correction Officers.
The swearing-in ceremony took place in the Samoa District Court Room on the 20th of June 2023, where these 67 police officers and 20 corrections officers were officially welcomed as members of the SPPCS. In front of the Honorable Judge Mata’utia Leota Raymond Schuster, the recruits recited their oaths, marking the beginning of their careers in law enforcement.
Judge Mata’utia Leota Raymond Schuster emphasized the importance of their roles, stating that being a police officer is not just a job; it is a commitment that carries a higher responsibility. He urged the new officers to use their power wisely in protecting the community.

Superintendent Asuao Junior Vaalotu spoke on behalf of the SPPCS, expressing gratitude to Judge Schuster for his encouraging words. He reminded the new recruits to always do the right thing and to put God first in all their endeavors.
The graduation ceremony for the new recruits is scheduled for Friday, 4th of July 2025, at the Samoa Police Academy Hall in Tafaigata, where the program will commence.
