Official Deployment of Samoa Police Officers to the United Nations Mission in the Republic of South Sudan (UNMISS)

The Samoa Police, Prisons and Corrections Services on Friday officially farewelled the third deployment of officers to the United Nations Mission since the COVID-19 pandemic. Six (6) officers will be deployed early Tuesday to serve in the Republic of South Sudan under UNMISS, continuing Samoa’s contribution to international peacekeeping efforts.
The deployed officers are:
Detective Senior Sergeant John Faanuualii
Senior Sergeant Shrikrishna Schwenke
Sergeant Vitolina Niko
Sergeant Rico Peleti
Sergeant Penehuro Paniani
Sergeant Lijay Solofa
Commissioner of Police, Auapa’au Logoitino Filipo, extended his best wishes to the officers for a safe and successful mission. In his remarks, he emphasized the great responsibility they carry as representatives of Samoa, reminding them that they are ambassadors for the nation. He urged them to uphold professionalism at all times, to honor the Samoan flag and the reputation of the Ministry on the global stage, and to allow God’s guidance to lead them throughout their deployment.
The Ministry acknowledges the dedication of these officers and commends their service in advancing peace and security internationally, while bringing pride and honor to Samoa.
