Eleven SPPCS members completes the 2nd phase of the Prosecution Training Course

 

Eleven members of the Samoa Police, Prisons & Corrections Services Prosecutions Unit received their certificates at the end of the 2nd Phase of prosecution training.

The certificate distribution ceremony was attended by Acting Police Commissioner Lafaitele Herbert Aati, Deputy Commissioner Papali’i Monalisa Tiai-Keti, and Acting Deputy Commissioner Muliagatele Lorraine Lees.

Senior Sergeant Jodie Lawrence from the New Zealand Police served as the training instructor. She emphasized the importance of courtroom skills, including preparation and understanding the perspective of judges.

Lawrence noted improvement among the participants during cross-examination practical training.

The New Zealand Police training instructor expressed her pride in the participants, and her emotional response indicated the commitment they had shown to carrying out prosecution duties with dedication and pride.

Acting Police Commissioner Lafaitele Herbert Aati congratulated the participants for successfully completing the training and commended their commitment.

The Prosecution training course spanned 2 weeks and included classroom assessments and mock court practical exercises.
