VICIOUS ATTACK AT SAVALALO FISH MARKET

A man has been arrested and charged with two counts of causing serious bodily injuries following a disturbance at the Savalalo Fishmarket on Saturday 30th May 2020 in the afternoon that involved a machete. He has been remanded in custody until the 22nd of June 2020 for mention.
The suspect was armed with a machete in a vigorous tussle with two other males as shown in a video clip that went viral on Facebook.
Two male victims were admitted to the Intensive Care Unit at the Motootua Hospital due to serious multiple injuries sustained from this vicious attack.
A thorough investigation into this matter is handled by our Criminal Investigation Division.
